Harmon Drive Mailbag :: Music from London

I have been slacking lately in regards to checking my email so I apologize. I spent 8 hours today listening to music submissions and reading the various emails in full that I have only skimmed the last few weeks. I am very excited about the music I discovered and took the time to listen to on this snowy day in Chicago. It made for one of the best days of the winter, new music in my headphones makes it all seem right.

The first of many artists I will introduce you to in the next few days is Ezequiel Claverie. Born in Argentina in 1982, Ezequiel moved to Paris at the age of 20 where he studied classic and contemporary music. He now lives in London and told me he has been making making experimental music since the age of 18 when he was inspired by a contemporary drama lesson.

He has recorded these tracks in his home studio and they have only been heard by his close friends, until now. Friends of Harmon Drive, meet Ezequiel. This is a little different music then I typically feature but there are no rules folks and I think these songs make for a great soundtrack for just about anything you will encounter in life. Ezequiel mentioned some influences I have never heard of, but will definitely check out: Aphex Twin, Autechre, and Matmos. After listening to his songs over and over they have really started to take shape for me, I hope you enjoy them as well.

You can download 5 of his tracks for free via his bandcamp site here.
