Fruit Bats Tonight :: Chicago :: Lincoln Hall : Listen

Fruit Bats, since 1999

The Fruit Bats come back to Chicago tonight and are playing Lincoln Hall. I am excited to see them once again. I saw the boys back in September when they had just released The Ruminant Band, their latest album which was one of my favorite albums of 2009.

Fruit Bats- Blessed Breeze

Fruit Bats- You Ain’t Goin Nowhere (Bob Dylan cover live)

Lincoln Hall: 10PM, supporting acts: Blue Giant (ex Viva Voce), The Singleman Affair. Get your Tickies.

To my friends in Atlanta, catch the bats at THE EARL on 3.10.10.

More Fruit Bats here.

Eric Johnson, lead singer of the Fruit Bats is also an occasional touring member of Vetiver as well as The Shins. Vetiver will be in Chicago on 3.10.10 playing the Empty Bottle. Here is a favorite song of mine by Vetiver that includes the perfect ingredients: jumping trains and drinking whiskey.

Vetiver- Roll On Babe (cover)

Roll On Babe was written by a folksinger named Derroll Adams, who was born in 1925, after he moved to Europe in the ’60s, he ended up mentoring Donovan. Roll On Babe was later covered by Ronnie Lane of The Faces.

Tour dates near you and more on Vetiver here.
